And the list goes on and on.
To a friend who made such a huge difference in my life, who taught me how to have confidence and yet to have a good heart. That is the most important lesson I have learn. To a friend who taught me style and fashion, who gave me the sense what would work and what would never (pink shoelace on sneakers), to a friend who stood by me, listened to all my rantings even though he was 4 years away from here.
It's amazing how our paths can crossed, a curry-pok ah beng in maroon shirt & Alexander Mcqueen Specs (Now yer wishing me to shut up!) trying to poke fun at a 80kg Aunty with black facial lines wearing the purple off shoulder blouse. Jere, the truth is just like Brandon, you love me even when I was ugly. I was the Ugly Betty. You love me and gave me friendship when I wasn't cool like the rest or weigh light like the rest. You were and you are a fantastic friend. I know I never need to be on form when it comes to friendship with you. I don't need to be the best, and this is what gave me room to be better each and every time.
You brought so many friends whom I love and I will swear to love for the rest of my life. You are a great addition to me and you're not just a friend but you are my family.
Happy Birthday Jere, a toast and cheers to a friend who brought hope to an Ugly Betty.
