I just want to encourage all of you that you can all trust God for a godly man or woman for you. Never settle for any lesser. I was actually going in rut in this area of relationship and I decided to consecrate my life for God. So at that point God spoke to me to write down a list of things I hoped to see in my future partner. I remembered I wrote down 52 of them, and the most important was this person have to love God more than anything else, I also prayed that he can sing, play the guitar, speak good english (because I hate Ah Bengs), like dogs, can swim, have broad shoulders, patient, funny etc.
It's important to be specific because our God answers specific prayers. So I prayed over that list for about 2 weeks and dumped my journal aside. I was enjoying my time with God that time and that it doesn't seems important to me to get attached. So anyway I met Brandon after 2 years and there was one night I felt the Lord asking me to look through my journal again.
I was very touched because most of the things I prayed came to past. Brandon is the best thing that ever happened to me. We are 5 years in the relationship and I still think he rocks big time. Btw, we are complete extreme opposites. But yet there's a compliment, a divine compliment I'd say. If you ask me do we quarrel? Of course we are humans, there's frictions and disagreements at times. But Brandon is such a loyal person to God and it really helps alot.
So guys, girls. You must pay the sacrifice of prayer in this area. Whoever you are going to end up with will determine your life here on earth hell or heaven. And it's essential to do the spiritual as well as the natural. After you prayed (manage your expectations in your list), in the natural you must walk parallel with your prayers. For e.g, learn to be the right one. Be edifying, be fun, be attractive. It's no use praying for a spiritual loving boyfriend when you are throwing tantrums and building yourself a bad reputation. Even if God has the right one for you, that guy would run away.
So you get what I am driving at. I've seen so many relationships which started out well but ended up in the pit. Probably God really meant for them to be together, but because God was excluded in the process, it gets very hardgoing. It's never God's will for us to have hardgoing relationships. God is able to give us relationships that are godly, fun and without burdens and sorrow.
If God can do it for me, God can do it for you. Expect the best from God. Cheers.
