Hey all,
how's it going? I want to share about my Idol Experience with you guys. Well it all started with Brandon, feeling led to give it a try. I mean there can only be benefits to saying more YES to NO in life, so I encouraged him to go for it. To show my support, I told him I would queue up with him.
Anyway we went down to the Cathay last night at about midnight. We were all ready to do overnight. I was so reluctant to do that because I ain't young anymore, Missy needs sleep and the bathroom regime. Anyway my love for my husband surpassed my love for comfort. We went down with our mats and all my toiletries, but thankfully we were given queue numbers and being instruct to come back 7am today.
Anyway we overslept and we woke up at 6.45am! I am not sparing you the details. We flung out of the house, I was wearing SHORTS and my hair was like crazy. So we queued from 7am to 5pm. In between, we basked under the Sun, we complaint, we cried out to God for clouds and shades, we whined for food and drinks, we made friends, we laughed, we tried to sleep, we practically did all kind of things. For me, I achieved so much, I had split personalities through the day, because I was so bored. At one moment I was learning Malay from the guy queueing beside me, one moment I am all serious and encourage the fellow people.
So though it was crazy and tiring, I did have the most fun, and the friends that I made. It taught me so much. In fact we made about 5 to 7 friends. Only one of them is Chinese and the rest are either Malays or Eurasians. Although we are of different races and colors, we had alot of fun together. It taught me that as long as people have a common goal, towards love, towards winning in this Idol's case, we can be united regardless of our color, creed and pride. So though it was crazy tiring for us, we feel very happy inside our heart. Just felt like God is speaking to us to embrace people how He would.
Hardy Mirza and many past Idol Contestants were around. Brandon and I were pretty surprised by Hardy. He was very down to earth, very honest, very helpful and just a normal chap who ain't afraid to be comfortable in his own skin. He belt out some tunes and he was incredible! I thought Terence look like him but Brandon says not. Anyway it was a good time. Praise God for that.
