Worship in 2009

Brandon and I have been seeking God for the past few days. On the Eve, God spoke to us concerning many things in 2009 that we must do. And one of it is to love the spiritual things of God. Praying, fasting, reading the Word, giving to the poor are all parts and parcels of it. God also been speaking to us about financing a child, we’re so convinced that this is worship.

I remember last year David shared with Brandon and I about worship. He asked us what is worship in our definitions. It wasn’t a trick question but it got us thinking really hard. We both said it’s reading the Word, living out the life that Christ wants us to live and probably being in the presence of God communing with Him. He then shared from Hebrews. If you read Hebrews 13, you will learn that loving each other is worship. Giving to the poor and caring for the lost is worship.

There are so many times we are so caught up with worship in our own capsules, assuming that as long as we fulfill our spiritual duties, that is sufficient. But the truth of the matter is, worship extends outside of just myself and I, worship is loving others more than yourself. So this year, I am very convinced I must live a life of worship, we are going to do just as we are told, sponsor a child. Hoped that in years to come we can be able to do more than just giving to a child.
