In a Nutshell

I had an amazing weekend. Everything at Emerge Jr went smoothly and great and I am really proud of all the children who took part in one way or another.

I was really moved when I saw the kids at the altar call, wanting to give their lives to Jesus. I am just so excited for them. I really believe the days of small beginnings are not to be underestimated.

I enjoyed myself thoroughly during the Emerge Jr and though we were all so tired and deadbeat, but the satisfaction that comes were an encouragement. I like what Bennett says once, life is not just a marathon but a series of sprints and runs, and I think we had all sprint well for the Emerge Jr.

Besides that, I also thoroughly enjoyed the service. It's not often that I could just sit in for the praise and worship, but I am just so thankful I am part of this great church. I went to meet up with PK thereafter and was again reminded that my call is to serve in whatever ways that I can, not just on the platform. There was a good click within my heart when PK taught the word of servanthood. I just sat there and knew it was the right word for me right there and then. Again reminded of what Dr Bernard preached that have encouraged me for miles, that leadership is what we do but servants are who we are.

After the service, Brandon and I caught up with Veroy and Madeline. I am just so glad that we are able to spend time and unwind together. The other night, Dave asked me who are my closest friends in the ministry, where our hearts are knitted together. I thought for a while and realized that I am blessed to have people like Veroy and Madeline to stand together with me serving God together. Together, we are truly stronger. On a lighter note, we went to watch Zohan. I don't particularly like it but it was a good laugh nevertheless. We rounded up the night with some good dimsums along Jalan Besar.

I watched Louie Giglio today on DVD and his preaching on God and Science. Btw, he is the director of Passion Movement, he is the one that is responsible for Sixsteps Records, which their list of signed artistes include David Crowder band, Chris Tomlim (How Great is our God), and people like Matt Redman. I was again so moved by the preaching and he is also the guy who coined Laminin. If you can remember, Pst Tan preached a message on that, about how Laminin as a protein cell, which is vital to making sure all body structures hold together. So I was so impacted by the message. And I am looking forward to hear him preach live at Indonesia this August. Can't wait to have my perspective of God expanded.

Lately, I've been thinking, there is something more to life, something more to ministry, something to what we do in the mundane, and all my reasoning and thoughts couldn't give me a click in my heart. But when I thought about loving people, loving the needy, the poor, I just felt yes this is what life is all about. You know the other night over supper, Brandon and I had a great time listening Dave's sharing. He shared about how physical worships also means loving the poor and caring for the needy. And I want to be able to do that, I may not have the capacity or resources to save the world, but as an individual, I can do what I can. I have a responsibility to do what I can. That is why I have been thinking about sponsoring a child, just a dollar a day can help them go very far in their livelihood and education. Think about this.

What is worship to you?

Worship is not a form but a lifestyle.
